WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) and IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) will meet in a unification showdown between explosive punchers on October 17 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The bout will be broadcast on pay-per-view with the HBO production team serving as the commentators.

As of right now, no undercard bouts have been announced. Lemieux has suffered one knockout loss in his career, which was to Marco Antonio Rubio, a man Golovkin knocked in the second round last October.
