Martha Salazar defends WBC title in Bay Area November 7th

Martha Salazar will make her first title defense of her WBC Women’s Heavyweight title on November 7th in Richmond, CA at the Memorial Auditorium in Richmond, CA. Salazar earned the WBC heavyweight title after defeating Tanzee Daniel in San Francisco, CA in November of 2014. Salazar earned her number one contender spot for the belt by beating at the time #1 ranked Sonya Lamonakis by unanimous decision in Sacramento, CA prior to the bout Salazar had been inactive for seven years.

Salazar will take on Laura Ramsey who had a very close fight with Carlette Ewell earlier this year. Ramsey is looking to make the most of her first and possibly only chance at getting a WBC world title and eager at the chance of a lifetime.

Salazar’s manager, Blanca Gutierrez of Babyface Boxing says, “We are so happy that Square Vision who is promoted by Michael Bazan [whom] is having 3 female bouts on this card. This is a huge step up for women’s boxing . It makes me so proud that promoter Michael Bazan has vision, hence the name Square Vision. “

Salazar will join a jam packed card that features GBO junior welterweight champion Bilal Mahasin, Luis Garcia, Casey Morton, Marquita Lee, Aaron Coley, Troy King, O.T. Seymore and many more.
