Troyanovsky stops Cuenca again, retains IBF super lightweight title

In a rematch, IBF super lightweight champion Eduard Troyanovsky (24-0, 21 KOs) scored the same result over  former champion Cesar Cuenca (48-2, 2 KOs) on Friday night at the Krylia Sovetov in Moscow, Russia. Cuenca up until fighting Troyanovsky was 48-0, one away from Floyd Mayweather’s benchmark, but that would all change over his last two fights as Troyanovsky’s power proved too much.

Not unlike the first bout, Cuenca started well, but began getting caught in the third round that lead to a bloody nose. The fourth round saw Cuenca hit the canvas, Cuenca would hit the deck once more in the sixth as well. The beatdown was ended in round seven when Cuenca’s corner threw in the towel.
