Harrison and Dallas Jr. fight to questionable draw
Dusty Hernandez-Harrison (29-0-1 16KOs) and Mike Dallas, Jr. (21-3-1 10KOs) battled to a 10-round split decision draw in the main event of the Roc Nation card at the DC Armory on Friday night broadcast on network television on BET. Dallas Jr. dominated the first half of the fight as he dropped Harrison with a hard left hook in the fifth round. The eighth round saw a Harrison low-blow scored as a knockdown that seemed to make the fight slightly competitive heading into the last few roudns.
The judges scored the fight Dallas, 96-92, 95-94 and 95-95. ITRBoxing.com scored the bout 96-92 for Mike Dallas Jr.
Heavyweight Darmani “Rock Solid” Rock (1-0 1KO) made his pro debut a successful one dispatching of “The DC Diamond Cutter” Carlos Black (1-4) as Rock simply overpowered the less skilled fighter.
In an interesting sink or swim fight Orlando “Orlandito” Del Valle (21-2 15 KOs) won an eight-round unanimous decision over Thomas “The Franchise ” Snow (18-3, 12 KOs) of Washington, DC. Del Valle dropped Snow in the second and third round with sneaky left hooks that exploited Snow’s hands being low. Snow would however rally back and finish very strong, but appeared to be too little too late as all three judges scored the bout 76-74.
