San Francisco, CA heavyweight LaRon Mitchell (14-0, 13 KOs) went the distance for the first time in his career, defeating Mario Heredia (14-5, 12 KOs) over eight rounds. The fight was a a competitive affair that saw both fighters hurt including Mitchell on the canvas for the first time in the third round.
The judges scored the bout 77-74, 77-74 and 76-75 for Mitchell.
