Northern California KO of the Year: Alberto Torres KOs Adam Fiel

Featherweight Alberto Torres was undefeated veteran southpaw known for good sparring in the area, but not known for amateur accolades. Adam Fiel was a well-touted amateur, who looked be trending in a positive direction. In early 2017 the two meet for the Square Warriors featherweight title in Pleasanton, Ca. What ensued was a grudge match of sorts that saw Fiel worse for wear and the onlookers surprised.

Torres and Fiel were very even heading into the fourth round when Fiel decided to keep his hands low and mock Alberto Torres much like what you see Lomachenko do, but with the constant angles. What happened next was Torres caught Fiel who was literally in front of him. Fiel got up quickly looked towards his corner and motioned to his corner instead of looking at the referee. The fight was called off at that moment.

For Torres, a hard-luck fighter, this win was one of the key moments of his professional career and a memorable moment in Northern California boxing history.
