Canelo vs. Golovkin 2 officially canceled, May 5th bout off

The super-fight and rematch between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin has been officially called off as via a conference call, Alvarez withdrew from the May 5th bout on HBO pay-per-view, which would take place at the T-Mobile Arena. Alvarez, who failed two drug tests prior to the fight for clenbuterol.
Gennady Golovkin will look to fight on May 5th still, but now at the MGM Garden Arena. The likely frontrunner for Golovkin is Spike O’Sullivan.
