Shawn Porter edges Danny Garcia, now two-time world champ

Shawn Porter is now a two-time welterweight champion as he pulled off a unanimous decision win over Danny Garcia to win the vacant WBC welterweight world title in Brooklyn, New York at The Barclays Center. Garcia started off strong and showed good poise, but the conditioning and work rate of Shawn Porter proved far too much as Porter was too much as Porter took over in the second half of the fight.

After bout, IBF welterweight champion, Errol Spence Jr. entered the ring and called out Shawn Porter.

In the co-main event, Yordenis Ugas picked up a unanimous decision over Cesar Barrionuevo, the judges had it 120-108, 120-108 and 119-109. Ugas is now ranked a mandatory challenger for the WBC welterweight title.

The opening bout was an entertaining affair as Brooklyn heavyweight Adam Kownacki gutted out a victory over former world champion Charles Martin. Kownacki picked up an early lead, but his conditioning almost failed him to a lose as Martin came on strong at the end, nearly beating the prospect. The judges had it all the same 96-94 for Kownacki.

Undercard results, Amanda Serrano made history becoming a six-division world champion Yamilla Reynoso for the WBO super lightweight title.
