Jose Ramirez beats Antonio Orozco, drops him twice

WBC super lightweight world champion Jose Ramirez defended his title in his home turf of the Save Mart Center in Fresno, CA as he fended off Antonio Orozco in an entertaining affair.

In the first round, the two came to entertain as they both exchanged punches with a left hook landing well from both fighters, Orozco landed the cleaner punches, but Ramirez was far more active. The second round saw Orozco get the better of the counterpunching and nab the round.

The third saw a major difference, Ramirez came out and start to box as he began to separate.

The fourth round saw the most dramatic moment of the fight when Ramirez knocked Orozco down and nearly finished the fight, but a tough Orozco fought through.

As the fight went longer it was clear, Ramirez could push the pace better than Orozco who found himself on the floor once again in the eighth round.

The remaining rounds saw fairly even rounds that Ramirez appeared to get the better of as his hand speed and foot speed appeared better than Orozco.

All three judges scored the bout 119-107 for Jose Ramirez.
