AND THE NEW! Tony Harrison upsets Jermell Charlo
AND THE NEW! Super welterweight Tony Harrison (28-2 21KOs) lived up to his Kronk pedigree as the Detroit native dethroned former world champion Jermell Charlo (31-1 15KOs) by way of a 12-round decision in the co-main event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Harrison refused to stand and trade with Charlo who only looked to land big power shots and seemed to miss a lot and often. The result was confusing since the broadcast team spent the whole fight downplaying what Harrison was doing as it was running when Harrison was out jabbing Charlo and landing the cleaner punches.
The judges all saw it for Tony Harrison with the scores of 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113.
