Raquel Miller wins in Texas, plus other results

San Francisco, Ca’s Raquel Miller defeated Ashleigh Curry by way of a six-round decision on Thursday night at Hanger No.2 Love Field, Dallas, Texas, on a card promoted by Maple Ave Boxing Gym’s Arnie Verbeek.

Miller won every single round and even dropped Curry at one point in the bout. Miller, a women’s middleweight boxer, will now be inching closer to a world title fight by the end of the year.

The bout was scored 60-53 on two cards with one judge appearing to confuse the fighters and scoring the fight the same way, but for Curry which made little to no sense.

Other results from the card include super lightweight Mykquan Williams picking up a six-round split decision win over Andre Byrd, Roberto Marroquin won a six-round split decision over Pedro Navarrete, middleweight Steven Pichardo got a four-round split decision over previously unbeaten Jamarcus Warren and heavyweight Rashard Readus knocked out pro debuting Michael Johnson in the second round.
