Stockton, CA’s Manuel Jaimes Returns, Saturday, in Mexico

WBC Youth World Lightweight champion Manuel Jaimes (11-0, 9 KOs), of Stockton, California, will return this weekend, Saturday, February 27th, against Alejandro Rene Frias (12-4-1, 6 KOs), which will take place in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Jaimes, who won the WBC Youth title in November of last year, his last bout, against Christian Vazquez, who is related to former IBF lightweight world champion Miguel Vazquez. It is important to note that Jaimes’ belt will not be on the line as Frias doesn’t meet the age requirements for a title defense, Jaimes will make his first title defense in his next bout.

Frias is coming off the biggest win of his career in his last bout, against Martin Eligio (7-2, 5 KOs), in a bout contested at 140 lbs.

Also on the card of note will be Damian Sosa as well as Alan Garcia.

Jaimes is promoted by Stockton-based boxing promotion Toscano Boxing Promotions, and is trained by Steve Salas at the Stockton PYA.
