Toscano Boxing Promotions, which is run by Jorge Toscano, with Israel Guajardo handling a lot of the fighter operation side of things, will venture into the world of pay-per-view for the first time since starting their promotion in July of 2018, as the promotion that started in Stockton and has mostly operated in Mexico since the pandemic, will look to enter into the boxing entertainment world, not unlike Triller cards prior.

The card which will take place on June 19th, at the Estadio Jalisco, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, will see Mexican legend Julio Cesar Chavez Sr vs Hector Camacho Jr, in an exhibition bout, that is being touted as Chavez Sr. last fight ever. The match will be an ode to the September 12th, 1992 bout between Chavez Sr, and Hector Camacho Sr., in which Chavez won a dominate decision for the WBC super lightweight world title at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

For Camacho Jr, this is the chance of a lifetime as he hasn’t ever fully be able to live up to the expectations of his last name, not unlike Chavez Sr’s son, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, and this revenge bout, could bring a lot of new opportunities his way. Beyond that, the success of the “Macho: The Hector Camacho Story” has brought more and more interest to the Camacho name in the past year, and this fight is hoping to capitalize on that.

The bout is the Mexican version of the Triller fight card we’re currently seeing with Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr, as we get a Mexican legend, forgoing age, to take on the son of a legend, who never quite had the career he would’ve hoped for, but will look to use the advantages of youth to overcome skill defeicets.

The co-main event is the fight that you can’t help, but watch. MMA legend Anderson Silva will fight in his third professional boxing match after a hall-of-fame career in the UFC, taking on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., in a ten-round bout, that not unlike Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren, I have no clue how it will look.

Silva has been called out by the likes of Roy Jones Jr., whom the two have been paired together for years, so for Silva if he wins, it looks as though he will be a staple in the entertainment boxing leagues looking to get interesting fights against legends.

For Chavez Jr., he needs to redeem himself. Chavez Jr. has had moments of success mainly, his win over Andy Lee, and dropping Sergio Martinez in the twelfth and final round in their PPV bout, but his loss to Andrzej Fonfara raised questions whereas his loss to Daniel Jacobs, in which he looked uninterested in the fight when adversity hit, or his loss to undefeated Mexican fighter Mario Abel Cazares that was viewed as a stay-busy fight, had some wondering if Chavez Jr. should even continue. Throw in the mix his fight with Canelo Alvarez, in which Chavez Jr. was outgunned from being to end, have many looking at Chavez Jr as the underdog.

So will Chavez Jr. reach the heights his career has not yet seen the day before father’s day, or will Silva find a new career for commerce?

The final announced bout will see Canelo Alvarez’s brother, Ramon, will face Omar Chavez, another son of Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., as the bout will be a trilogy as they’re currently, split with a win a piece, making this one for the bragging rights.

For fans of Mexican boxing, and particular Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., the card offers a lot of nostalgia, and more than likely action, with the compelling, unpredictable co-main event between Anderson Silva, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
