WBA and WBC (interim) middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin will defend against Willie Monroe Jr. May 16 at the Forum in Inglewood, CA. The fight will be officially announced on Tuesday at a press conference at the LA Forum. The event will be promoted by K2 Promotions and GGG Promotions in association with Banner Promotions and broadcast on HBO. Monroe, winner of the 2014 Boxcino tournament, is currently ranked #2 by the WBA, #5 by the WBO and #9 by the WBC. This will also mark the first time a Boxcino tournament winner will get a title shot and show what kind of talent the tournament develops as well
