In order for the June 6th, WBC middleweight title fight, which is actually be contested at a catchweight of 157 lbs., to be official both Miguel Cotto and Daniel Geale had to weigh in earlier today. That is not weird since this happens with every WBC bout, but the results raised a lot of “WTF?”.

Miguel Cotto who has only fought at middleweight once, in his last outing against Sergio Martinez last year to win the WBC middleweight title, but according to weigh in results is heavier than Geale. Cotto weighed in today at 164.8 lbs. whereas Daniel Geale is at 158 lbs., so why is this so strange? Geale is a career middleweight and is at the lowest weight of his career, as opposed to Cotto potential being the heaviest of his career.
