Chocolatito destroys Sosa in two rounds

Well, Roman Gonzalez was worth the wait. The flyweight Nicaraguan knockout artist wasted little time endearing himself to American fans as he destroyed a tough Edgar Sosa, who looked at a loss for the power and skill of Gonzalez.

From the start of the fight Gonzalez landed at will with fluid combination punching that mixed in punches from the head to the body. In the second round, Gonzalez was set to close the show as he preyed upon the body of Sosa which allowed a right to sneak in and floor Sosa. Once Sosa was hurt Gonzalez never allowed him to breathe as he brought pressure that forced Sosa back to the canvas once again.

Sosa tried to rally back as he tried to exchange with Gonzalez while badly hurt, but found it all for not as a third knockdown would spell the end of the fight as the referee waived off the fight.

For the undefeated Gonzalez, this was an amazing debut as not just was Sosa nearly fighter of the year two to three years ago, Gonzalez outclassed him and finished him promptly. It sure looks like the hype around Gonzalez was real.

The bout was televised by HBO and took place at The LA Forum in Inglewood, CA
