Boxing TV schedule for June 12-13

June 12th, Friday, Spike TV 9:00 EST/PST (tape delayed on west coast), Erislandy Lara vs. Delvin Rodriguez, Artur Beterbiev vs. Alexander Johnson – Lara is back in action in a made to order opponent that he should look very good against and Beterbiev should continue his knockout streak against a guy no one knows much about. Let’s be real, it isn’t the best card, but it is comparable to what Friday Night Fights use to offer, so you can’t complain too much.

June 13th, Saturday, HBO, 10PM EST/7:00 PST, Nicholas Walters vs. Miguel Marriaga for Walters’ WBA Featherweight title, Felix Verdejo vs. Ivan Najera – The best card of the weekend features Walters making the first defense of his featherweight title after knocking out Nonito Donaire against another knockout artist in Marriaga, who also holds wins over Walters in amateurs. The co-main event is a test for Felix Verdejo to see if he is ready to take the next step to become a star as he faces his toughest opposition on the most accessible outlet yet.

June 13th, Saturday, Showtime, 9PM EST/6PM PST, Deontay Wilder vs. Eric Molina for the WBC heavyweight title, Jose Pedraza vs. Andrey Klimov for the vacant IBF junior lightweight title, Ivan Redkach vs. Dejan Zlaticanin for WBC lightweight eliminator – Showtime is back with a triple header of two interesting bouts of fighters on the rise with a very marginal main event that should see Wilder stop Molina quickly.

June 13th, Saturday, UniMas, tape delay late, Jose Felix Jr. vs. Yakubu Amidu, lightweight – Yakabu Amidu is a tough test for anyone and this fight could be more competitive than most might assume considering the network placement, but at the same time you have to be a hardcore boxing junkie to search out this fight.
