Andrew Hernandez upsets Arif Magomedov on CBS

In a shocking upset,  Andrew “Hurricane” Hernandez (12-4-1, 3 KOs) scored a ten round, one sided unanimous decision over previously undefeated  Arif “The Predator” Magomedov (17-1, 10 KOs) to claim a vacant WBC regional title on Saturday night at the outdoor Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC) in Las Vegas. Magomedov was unable to close the distance as he stand at the end of Hernandez’s jab unable to land solid punches. In the final round, Hernandez floored Magomedov to leave little doubt who won the fight. The judges scored the bout wide as well 100-89, 100-89, 98-91.

Super welterweight John “The Phenom” Vera (13-0, 9 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over Joey “Boxer” Ruelas (10-2-1, 4 KOs).

17-year-old lightweight Devin “The Dream” Haney (6-0, 4 KOs) stopped Jairo Fernandez (4-1, 3 KOs) in round four. Haney landed a slew of unanswered punches that forced the referee to stop the fight.

The card was broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network.
