Promoter @loudibella says as of today, he'll no longer promote boxing in #NYC. Insurance ask is too high. PBC Sept 24 @barclayscenter no go

At the media scrum for the build-up to Errol Spence Jr-Leonard Bundu, promoter Lou DiBella dropped a bombshell upon the media. DiBella stated that after Sunday’s bout at the Barclays Center he will no longer promote in New York, because of absurdly high insurance rates.
Not just is the news interesting in terms of New York boxing, but also in terms of the September 24th rumored card between Danny Garcia versus Andre Berto – that has not been announced might I add. The news is somewhat shocking since the Barclays Center for the past four years has been the home to east coast boxing.
