Darwin Price gets KO in first headlining bout on television
Super lightweight Darwin Price (11-0, 6 KOs) scored a seventh round TKO over Javontae Starks (13-2, 7 KOs) on Saturday night at the Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio, Texas in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions card on NBCSN. Price dominated the fight as he sent Starks to the floor in the third round. The bout was stopped in the seventh round in which Price was able to stop the game Starks with a series of punches that lead to the fateful stoppage.
The co-main event saw super lightweights, Kent Cruz (11-0, 6 KOs) pick up a decision over Rickey Edwards (11-1, 3 KOs). The judges saw the bout 77-74, 77-73, 77-73.
Super welterweight Junior Castillo (11-1, 9 KOs) found himself in a slugfest with Josue Ovando (12-11-1, 10 KOs) despite the wide scores of 60-54, 58-56, 58-56. 60-54.
