Prospect of the Year (1 year away from world title): Andy Vences

Andy Vences had a good 2016 that ended with him picking up the WBC Continental Americas title in November against undefeated Casey Ramos to picking up wins in Studio City, Ca and Lemoore, Ca. Vences, who came up from the Northern California regional circuit and was unsigned until his thirteenth professional fight in which industry staple Top Rank picked up the San Jose junior lightweight prospect.

Vences, who has graduated this year into a true contender in his weight class now is a headliner on UniMas’ “Solo Boxeo” series as heading into 2017 he will headline his second card on national television with rumors of a big fight on the horizon.

Vences is a boxer with power in both hands and one of the hardest workers in the sport of boxing. Vences was also the subject of ITRBoxing.com documentary earlier this year
