Sullivan Barrera beats Seanie Monaghan, eyes title fight in future

Light heavyweight Sullivan Barrera picked up a ten-round decision over Seanie Monaghan at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn, New York. Barrera outboxed Monaghan, who had a solid outing, but struggled to keep up Barrera, who simply just seemed to have more tools.

Barrera last outing was against Dmitry Bivol in March in which Barrera was stopped in the twelfth and final round. Barrera makes a case to get a fight against any of the marquee fighters with this win.

For Monaghan, a 37-year-old veteran, this might be his last fight, but a darn good one and he also proved to the world that the Marcus Browne knockout was not who he was as he lasted the full duration of the fight.

The co-main event saw middleweightDennis Douglin, best known for his mom being his coach, get a sixth-round knockout over Saul Roman, heavyweight Cassius Chaney got off the deck in the second round to stop Santino Turnbow in the fourth round and super welterweight Ismael Villarreal got a first-round knockout of Travis Nero.

LeShawn Rodriguez didn’t fight Calvin Metcalf due to a hand injury, sadly this was the bout was most excited about.
