Ergashev, Ward win on ShoBox
Super lightweight Shohjahon Ergashev (16-0, 14 KOs) continues his upward trajectory with an impressive ten round unanimous decision over Mykal Fox (19-1, 5 KOs) on Friday night at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, Kansas. Ergashev is highly aggressive and uses basic boxing concepts such as distance and feints along with power to create an unsettling mess for Fox.
The judges had the bout 96-94, 98-92, 98-92 for Ergashev.
Super bantamweight Thomas Patrick Ward (25-0, 4 KOs) came from the U.K. to Kansas to get a unanimous decision over Jesse Angel Hernandez (12-2, 7 KOs). Ward dropped Hernandez with a short left hook in round four. The judges saw the bout 100-89, 99-90, 98-90.
Ward is now the number one contender for the IBF super bantamweight title currently held by T.J. Doheny.
U.S. Olympic bronze medalist and Kansas resident Nico Hernandez (7-0, 4 KOs) won his eight-round flyweight showdown by unanimous decision over Victor Trejo Garcia (16-10-1, 8 KOs) in the opening bout.
