Daniyar Yeleussinov moved off GGG card over choice words of Golovkin [rumor]

Daniyar Yeleussinov, the 2012 and 2016 Kazakh Olympian Daniyar Yeleussinov, who won a gold medal in 2016, might have learned a lesson in choosing his words better after this past weekend.

Yeleussinov was set to fight on Gennady Golovkin’s return against Steve Rolls on June 8th in New York, but over the past few months Yeleussinov’s favorite adage was talking about how he will be a bigger star than Golovkin.

This past weekend, May 25th, Daniyar Yeleussinov fought on the undercard of Devin Haney with relatively little fanfare or acknowledgement, it could be a coincidence, but it is quite interesting that Yeleussinov was moved up and off his original date to a card that seemingly didn’t have as much appeal for Kazakh fanbase.

This is purely speculation, but something to keep your eye, as Golovkin is now not just a fighter, but also a promoter.
