WBO orders Jose Ramirez vs Jack Catterall

Unified WBO and WBC super lightweight world champion Jose Ramirez already appears to have a new bout in works after his win over Maurice “Mighty Mo” Hooker last month, as the WBO ordered a mandatory title defense against Jack Catterall (24-0 13KOs), which will need to come to terms within the next 30-days.

The optimist in me hopes that if the details could be worked out that we could end up seeing Jose Ramirez at The Save Mart Center in Fresno, California later this year.

Jack Catterall is a 26-year-old from Chorley, Lancashire, located in the United Kingdom, who is nicknamed “El Gato”, which means cat in Spanish. The Frank Warren promoted fighter has two marquee wins one over previously unbeaten Tyronne McKenna, in a bout in which Catterall dropped McKenna, but lost a point for hitting him while down, as well as Ohara Davis, a polarizing British boxer.

Ramirez will be a dramatic step-up in competition.

More information as it is established.
