Patrick Day transported to the hospital after a knockout loss to Conwell

Patrick Day fought to the best of his abilities on Saturday night in Chicago against 2016 Olympian Charles Conwell a super welterweight bout 154 at Wintrust Arena. Day, a well-respected veteran, who has sparred everyone in the business and has the respect of any knowledgable fighter and fan, was giving an honest effort, before being stopped by Conwell in the tenth round.

Day dropped to the ground after a series of shots, worse of all, Day’s head bounced off the canvas like a basketball. Further reports state that Day began having a seizure on after being taken from the ring.

Day, who was promoted by Lou DiBella, who holds wins over Kyrone Davis, Eric Walker and Virgilijus Stapulionis, but lost recently to Carlos Adames, known as one of the hardest punchers in the division. Day had only been knocked out once before by Carlos Garcia Hernandez, who stopped him in 2015.

Our thoughts are with Patrick Day at this time.
