“I have been talking to world champions,” said Willie Shaw after the fight. “I have a great team, and I know that when I am focused I have what it takes to be a champion, although I know I am a champion already, I still need to earn it with a belt.”

Shaw pressed forward putting Chavez on the ropes quickly. A series of punches ended the bout after Chavez had been taken a lot of punishment, quickly in the fight.

In the co-main event, cruiserweight Cameron Rivera (8-6-3, 6KOs) stopped San Francisco’s own Andres Salas (5-1, 4KOs) in a major upset. Middleweight Christian Duran (1-0, 1KO) picked up a first-round knockout over Hugo Sanchez (0-1) in a highlight reel fashion leaving Sanchez on the canvas for a minute or so after.

The opening bout saw Kenny Davis Jr. (2-2-1) defeat Derick Bartlemay (1-10-2) by way of a unanimous decision.
