Bay Area National Champion Amari Jones Turns Pro April 3rd

Amari Jones, who many knew as “Fresh” in the amateurs, but is opting out of a nickname for the professional realm, and is the most recent signee to Devin Haney Promotions, as part of the exclusive stable that includes himself, Devin Haney, and Darren Cunningham III, will turn professional on April 3rd in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Buckethead Fight Club.

Jones, who last fought at the 2019 Olympic Trials, who represents the San Francisco Bay Area defeated Demontaze “Juicy” Duncan, a year-and-a-half-ago at the last national USA Boxing, to win the national title before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the world. Jones is now turning pro when the finals are being held for the USA nationals, which is an interesting fact.

“I was originally going to fight on the Devin Haney versus Yuriorkis Gamboa card,” said Jones, who will be fighting at welterweight. “I am glad I didn’t though, because now I am able to fight in Atlanta, and my family can be there to see my first professional fight.”

Jones hold wins over Vito Mielnicki Jr., and Kasir “Mazzi” Goldston, two of the countries most highly-touted, have onlookers that had heard about Jones from his run in USA Boxing, eager to see him as a professional. Jones is one of the fighters in America that has the highest potential and is young as well. It will be exciting to see how his career moves forward.

The card which is headlined by his stablemate, Darren Cunningham III, will see Jones start a very promising career.

We will have a link to this fight card on April 3rd, so you can watch it on our website.
