WBC super lightweight champion Danny Garcia has vacated his belt at 140 lbs. WBC head honcho Mauricio Sulaiman announced the Lucas Matthysse vs. Viktor Postol will fight for the now vacant title at a yet to be announced date.

Garcia has not defended the title since spring of last year when he earned debatable decision over Mauricio Herrera in Puerto Rico. Garcia will next return to action on August 1st on ESPN in a card stemming from Brooklyn, NY – Paulie Malignaggi is currently being closely linked to the fight.
