Mayweather rumored to be fighting Berto on CBS in September

Per boxing insider, Michael Woods,  Floyd Mayweather has just about picked his next opponent as he reported that Mayweather will fight Andre Berto on CBS. Yes, broadcast television as opposed to the PPV model that Mayweather has shattered nearly every record in. The report cites an uncredited source that Woods proclaims as being very much in the know and explains that the CBS fight is in the same network family as Showtime meaning that he would fulfill his Showtime contract.

The article further speculates what others have thought all along that if Mayweather gets to 49-0, he would set up a network television bidding war for his final fight, one that most believe will be a Manny Pacquiao rematch. My insight makes me wonder if Mayweather might look to bundle his big fight with television rights deal for Premier Boxing Champions which has been buying television time at the current time. If this fight does happen, Mayweather may earn just as much a pay-per-view with something he has not done much of in his career, sponsorship.
